Primal Innovation supports the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Open Campus as a collaborative endeavor, with the goal of building a science and technology ecosystem that will encourage groundbreaking advances in basic and applied research areas of relevance to the Army. Through the Open Campus framework, ARL scientists and engineers (S&Es) will work collaboratively and side-by-side with visiting scientists in ARL's facilities, and as visiting researchers at collaborators' institutions. Central to the research collaborations is mutual scientific interest and investment by all partners.
ARL Open Campuses are co-located with the leading universities in California, Illinois, Texas, and Massachusetts. The ARL Open Campus locations is an initiative to extend access to the best and brightest minds across the country, to work side by side with academia and industry, and ensure we build a robust, sustainable community of scientists and engineers solving the Army’s most pressing challenges.
Support the development of content for website, videos, and a slide deck for communicating the mission and activities of the office - this will involve working with the ARL public affairs staff as well as ARL scientists across the region;
Support the creation and distribution of information for standing meetings, and monthly outcomes updates for all collaborators in the region – this will involve working with both ARL scientists across the region and leadership in Adelphi MD;
Scheduling meetings for the Regional offices and synchronized with ARL Headquarters.
Support the development of a regional workshops where we will bring together a broad community of ARL, industry, academia, and other government entities from across the region to look for opportunities for collaboration and to ensure awareness of the full scope of regional activity – this will require working across a broad array of stakeholders across the region.
Additional duties as assigned – this position will also require engagement and support of visits to the area by ARL scientists, support for high level Army visits, and administrative support as needed on-site for security inspections and development of standard operating procedures. The position reports to the ARL Regional Lead, in collaborative efforts to efficiently create media content vital to supporting basic and applied research mission focus.
Intermediate/advanced knowledge and demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, and Outlook
Demonstrated writing and communication skills.
Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Army rank structure
Business or Technical degree highly desired
Ability to hold Secret or Higher Security Clearance
